I joined a Barcelona photoshoot tour with GetYourGuide and loved it.  I paid for my own tour to see what the experience was like, and to get some photos of me that aren’t selfies for a change!  Here is my full photo tour review so you can decide if it’s for you!

Which Barcelona Photoshoot Tour I Chose:

When I was looking for a Barcelona photo tour I checked the options available on GetYourGuide, and decided on Barcelona: Instagram Tour of the Most Scenic Spots.

Powered by GetYourGuide

I use GetYourGuide to book tours and tickets as I love how you can choose from a variety of options to find the best for you, comparing prices and reading reviews before you select your favourite.

Using GetYourGuide means you also get immediate confirmation once you’ve booked which is perfect for last-minute plans, and when you book in advance you can cancel up to 24 hours before the activity in case your plans change.

I chose this tour because there were several options available varying from a 2-hour group photo shoot in the Gothic Quarter to a full day private photo shoot in Barcelona’s most beautiful places including the Gothic Quarter, Sagrada Familia and Park Guell.

Tour Highlights include:

  • Photo session at the most scenic places in Barcelona with a professional photographer
  • Entrance to Park Guell (full-day option)
  • 25 fully optimized high-resolution pictures per session (1 person, or more for a couple/family)
  • Small group tour with a maximum of 10 people, or private tours available
  • Experience the empty streets of the Gothic Quarter first thing in the morning
  • Have your photo taken at the Cathedral of Barcelona
  • Visit the Arc de Triomf and Ciutadella Park
  • Enjoy a photoshoot in front of the icon of the city, the Sagrada Familia

These photo tours in Barcelona make the most of the best times of the day to visit the Gothic Quarter (early in the morning before the crowds), and Park Guell (in the afternoon to avoid the glare of the sun), and I was impressed by the tour reviews on GetYourGuide so I decided to book.

My Personal Review of this Barcelona Photoshoot Tour

I chose the 2-hour group tour option for a photoshoot in the Gothic Quarter, and we met bright and early on the steps of the Gothic Cathedral.

Our Barcelona photographer was Lola, a friendly and professional guide who helped us to get some fantastic photos of Barcelona.  There was a small group of us participating in the tour, just two other solo female travellers, so we helped each other out by holding handbags and checking outfits before our turn for photos!

We started in front of the Gothic Cathedral, which was unfortunately partly covered with scaffolding.  We had a few photos here but moved on to find other photo spots in Barcelona that weren’t covered up!

The Kiss Mural is one of my favourite pieces of street art in Barcelona and a great place for photos.  Lola got some fabulous shots of us jumping in front of the mural as well as a nice combination of close-ups and different poses in front of the mural.

After that, we went behind the Cathedral and into the streets of the Gothic Quarter to find more pretty places in Barcelona for a photo, including the beautiful Pont del Bisbe and Plaça del Rei.

Looking at the tour description it seems that Felip Neri Square is now included in the photo tour (possibly instead of Plaça del Rei?) and while we didn’t go there it is another wonderful spot for photos in Barcelona.

Ciutadella Park was a nice addition to the photoshoot as the lake and fountain are often overlooked on other Barcelona photoshoots.  I always find posing for photos really awkward but Lola managed to get some shots I was happy with, which is no easy feat!

We then walked up to the Arc de Triomf for more photos, but by this time it was starting to get busier so photos without people in them were harder to get.  For me, the most iconic places for photos are the Gothic Quarter and Sagrada Familia, so I didn’t mind not getting a perfect shot at Arc de Triomf.

Finally we hopped on the metro to go up to the Sagrada Familia.  The metro journey from Arc de Triomf to Sagrada Familia isn’t included in the price, so buy a ticket in advance if you can or your guide will help you to buy one at the metro station if needed.

The Sagrada Familia is one of the most iconic landmarks in Barcelona, and while I’ve taken hundreds of photos of La Sagrada Familia it is not easy to get a good photo with me in it so I was thrilled when I saw the photos that Lola took.

I Loved This Tour!

I loved this photo tour, and the photos I got back from our session were fabulous.  I got the photos a week after the tour, and was sent a link where I could download all the pictures.

There was a mix of portrait and landscape photos, and a combination of closeups and scenic photos of Barcelona with me trying my best to pose naturally.  I didn’t always manage it, but Lola gave me some pointers and I was very pleased with the photos that I got back.

My favourite photo spots were in the Gothic Quarter and at Sagrada Familia, although it was great to get a variety of different locations so we could choose our favourites.

I was impressed with the range of places we visited, and Lola was efficient with the time, not rushing us but making sure she worked swiftly to make sure everyone was happy with their poses in each location, occasionally pausing to show us the images she had taken.

If you’re looking for a photoshoot tour in Barcelona, I definitely recommend this one!

Some Tips for Your Barcelona Photo Shoot Tour

Wear comfortable, flowing clothes.  I chose to wear colourful trousers for my photoshoot, although I wish I had gone for a swirly dress which would have given my photos a bit more movement.

Practise posing.  While Lola tried her best to get poses that work well on camera, I am not a natural at posing for photos, so I’d recommend playing around yourself to find some positions, movements and expressions that work well for you.

Watch the others.  Take inspiration from the other people on your group to see what looks good and watch your photographer to see how they capture a good photograph and what angles they use.

Bring your own phone or camera.  While you are visiting some of the prettiest Instagram spots in Barcelona, make the most of your time and get some snaps!
