Barcelona’s rooftop bars give you the chance to enjoy the city’s stunning skyline while sipping on expertly crafted cocktails. Whether you’re looking for a bar with a view of La Sagrada Familia or one of Gaudi’s other creations, the Gothic Cathedral or panoramic views of the entire city, these Barcelona rooftop bars have everything you need. Here’s my pick of the best rooftop bars in Barcelona for you to try!
Where to Find the Best Rooftop Bars in Barcelona
Most of these rooftop bars are in 4* hotels, which make use of their rooftop terrace. I’ve split these up into neighbourhoods so you can find a rooftop bar close to you, or plan a rooftop bar crawl in Barcelona!
I’m working my way through all of these, some I have visited and some I haven’t yet but I’ll update this article as I go with my personal experience.
My Personal Favourite Rooftop Bars in Barcelona
Terrassa de les Indianes at 1881 per Sagardi
Location: Plaça de Pau Vila, 3, Museu d’Història de Catalunya
This rooftop terrace bar is easily missed as it is on the rooftop of the Museum of Catalan History, not a hotel for a change! The 1881 per Sagardi restaurant is on the rooftop as well, but there is a section just for drinks if you don’t want to dine.
There are lovely views of Port Vell up towards Montjuic and the city and there is a good menu of cocktails and drinks – prices are reasonable considering the location, from €6 for a glass of wine and cocktails from €10 to €15 each.
Reservations are recommended for the restaurant but there doesn’t seem to be an option for reserving a table at the bar.
Sercotel Hotel Rosellón Rooftop (Formerly the Ayre Hotel Rosellón)
Location: Carrer de Mallorca, 401
The Sercotel Hotel Rosellón has one of the best views of the Sagrada Família, and the rooftop bar is a perfect place to enjoy a drink with this iconic backdrop. If you’re a guest at the hotel then there is free access to the rooftop, but non-guests will have to make a reservation, which is not easy to get!
The reservation system for the terrace allows bookings up to 14 days in advance, and is often fully booked. The website says there is a reservation fee of €7 per person, and once you’re at the bar you need to buy something – a drink or food.
I enjoyed my stay here and would recommend it as one of the best hotels close to La Sagrada Familia. Plus if you book a superior room with a “Landmark View” you’ll get a view of the Sagrada Familia from your bedroom! I treated myself to one of these rooms, and the view really is incredible!
L’Atic – Lamaro Hotel Rooftop Bar (Formerly Known as the Hotel Colon)
Location: Lamaro Hotel, Av. de la Catedral, 7, Ciutat Vella, 08002
Open: from 1pm to 11.30pm
The secret is definitely out with this one, it’s one of the most popular rooftop bars in Barcelona thanks to the central location and the gorgeous view of the Gothic Cathedral.
They don’t take reservations so expect to wait – there is almost always a line of people outside the hotel waiting to go up, I saw reviews saying some people waited 3 hours to get a table!
If you’re lucky or staying at the hotel you may be able to snag a table at the edge of the terrace which has the best views, but usually you are assigned a table automatically so there’s no guarantee you’ll have a good spot – when someone left we snuck in to take a photo at their table, but you’re also not usually allowed to switch once you’re seated.
Service is quick, drinks are not cheap but similar to other rooftops in Barcelona (€7 for a glass of wine or a beer, €14 for an Aperol Spritz and €15+ for a mixed drink). The cocktail menu doesn’t stretch further than a gin and tonic unfortunately.
There is a tapas menu for food if you want something to nibble on, but there are better restaurants nearby (without the view though!). My recommendation would be to go early for a drink, take a photo and then move on – I certainly wouldn’t wait 3 hours for a drink here – even with that view!
The Rooftop at Sir Victor
Location: Carrer del Rosselló, 265
Open: Daily from 12pm noon to 12am Midnight, kitchen closes at 11pm.
Overlooking the Passeig de Gràcia and with direct views of Gaudí’s La Pedrera, The Rooftop at Sir Victor is a stylish hangout if you are looking for a trendy yet laid-back setting. The views are lovely, with La Pedrera opposite, and views of La Sagrada Familia and Casa de les Punxes on the other side.
The bar menu has a wide selection of drinks including cocktails (I recommend the gin & lychee cocktail), wines and cavas. I didn’t try any food but the menu looks good, with options for tapas, sharing plates and main meals.
If you make a reservation you’re given priority for the best views, although they are seated on bar stools looking out at the view so best for couples or solo travellers, as groups would be seated all in a line or at one of the tables away from the edge.
There are other tables available if you don’t have a reservation, we went on a Sunday afternoon and got a table right away, although it was next to the bathrooms and there was an unpleasant smell wafting now and again. I would go back, but with a reservation.
The Clock Terrace, Hotel Catalonia Barcelona Plaza
Location: Pl. d’Espanya, 8
This 4* hotel is right on Plaça d’Espanya, and the rooftop and some of the rooms have unbeatable views of Av. De la Reina Maria Cristina and MNAC National Art Museum of Catalonia.
If you’re in Barcelona for New Year’s Eve, there is no better place to watch the fireworks! The rooftop terrace is surprisingly large, and there is a good-sized swimming pool for guest use only. After 8pm the rooftop bar is open for guests and public use, so even if you’re not staying here you can come up for a drink and admire the view.
Reservations are not usually needed, unless it is a special occasion like New Year, when you’ll have to book a room at the hotel or a table at the hotel restaurant to have access to the rooftop.
Salts – Terrassa Bar Montjuic
This is a bonus bar, as it isn’t technically on a rooftop, but it has incredible views of Barcelona that you won’t want to miss! Salts is the bar in the Montjuic Municipal Swimming Pool, which has two outdoor swimming pools and a large viewing area which was used during the 1992 Olympic Games.
Now the swimming pool is only open from June to September, but the bar is open all year round, Monday to Friday from 11am to midnight, and on weekends from 10.30am to midnight. The views are stunning, and it’s a popular place to watch the sunset.
There is a good selection of food available, including some snacks, tapas, pizzas and burgers. It’s excellent value, and you don’t even have to buy a drink here if you don’t want to, you can just sit in the viewing area and soak up the sunshine – and those views!
There is also a toilet that you can use, which is very handy if you’ve been exploring Montjuic all day and need a bathroom break.
A word of warning though – the steps in the viewing area are very steep, and only the steps to the far right (down to the bathrooms) have a handrail, so watch your step and your kids carefully!
La Plaça Gourmet Cafeteria – El Corte Inglés in Plaça de Catalunya
Location: Pl. de Catalunya, 14, Top Floor of El Corte Inglés
Again, this isn’t technically a rooftop bar, but the food court in El Corte Inglés is on the 9th floor of the department store and has incredible views of Plaça de Catalunya.
It’s open every day until 9pm (7.30pm on Sunday) so it’s a great place to have lunch, a coffee or a spritz in the afternoon and early evening. You could even go for breakfast! It is more of a restaurant than a bar, so don’t expect a huge range of drinks, but it’s free to enter, and you don’t even need to make a purchase to have a look at the view.
It can get very busy around lunch and dinner time, and although there is plenty of seating you have to be luck to get one of the coveted tables by the window. The food and drinks are reasonable both in terms of quality and price, and compared to hotel rooftops that often charge a fee just to access them, this is a gem!

The pool is just for guest use but visitors can also enjoy a unique view of a sgraffito mural from the 1920s by Oleguer Junyent that is only fully visible from la Terraza del Central.

The Best Rooftop Bars in Eixample Barcelona
Wide leafy avenues and beautiful Modernist architecture make the hotel rooftop bars in Eixample a top choice. It’s hard to beat the view from the Sercotel Hotel Rossello, but with reservations being so difficult to get (without a hotel stay), these other luxurious rooftop bars in Barcelona’s Eixample neighbourhood are well worth exploring.
Hotel Pulitzer Rooftop
Location: Carrer de Bergara, 10
Open from Wednesday to Sunday 5 pm to 11 pm
Known for its trendy atmosphere, the Hotel Pulitzer Rooftop offers panoramic views of the city center, from its location close to Plaça de Catalunya. The cocktail menu is creative and diverse, and the bar often hosts live DJ sets in the evening.
Bookings are recommended, there is a €25 per head cover charge for bookings and that will be deducted from the cost of your bill. Drinks start from €6 for a glass of wine or a beer, with signature cocktails at €15 each.

Best Rooftop Bar in Raval
Terraza 360° at Barceló Raval
Location: Rambla del Raval, 17
As the name suggests, Terraza 360° provides a full-circle view of Barcelona from the top of the Barceló Raval hotel. Reservations are not required so you can head straight up to the 11th floor for great views of Montjuic, Tibidabo and the whole city.
The bar features a wide selection of cocktails, wines, and tapas, and on Sundays there is a brunch offer in the 10th floor B-Lounge restaurant that includes a welcome cocktail on the rooftop.

Tips for Visiting Rooftop Bars in Barcelona
Make a Reservation if Possible
Not all bars accept reservations, but if you can make one it’s a good idea to reserve a table, especially on weekends or during peak tourist seasons. Don’t forget to ask for a spot with a great view! If you don’t manage to reserve a spot, at least check the opening times before you go – some rooftop bars have seasonal hours or may close earlier on certain days.
Be Aware of the Dress Code
The top rooftop bars in Barcelona generally have a smart-casual dress code, so make sure you make a little effort to fit in with the chic crowd, especially in the evening. If you turn up in beach wear and flip flops you may be disappointed!
Check the Weather Forecast
A rainy day on a rooftop bar isn’t much fun, but on the other hand, a cloudy day means you’re more likely to be able to enjoy a quiet drink with shorter wait times for a table. Check the forecast before you go and bring a light layer or jacket if you plan to stay after dark – evenings are cooler, especially on a breezy day.
Time Your Visit
The early bird catches the worm as they say, so if you go for a drink in the late afternoon there’s less chance of a queue for a table. Most of the views are best at sunset, then you can stay later to enjoy the DJ or any entertainment on offer.
