I adore Barcelona, and have spent years exploring the city to help you make the most of your trip.
I first came to Barcelona as an exchange student in 2003 and immediately fell in love with the city. I came back to live in Barcelona from 2012 to 2015 and had a wonderful time before I decided to go travelling around South America for a year (which turned into 9 years of travelling as a digital nomad!).
During my time as a nomad I came back to visit Barcelona every year, sometimes for weeks and months at a time, and I finally came back to live in Barcelona at the beginning of 2025. I now live in El Born neighbourhood in Barcelona city centre and have discovered a passion for Catalan culture that has inspired me to learn everything I can about the history, culture, food and drink in Barcelona.
In addition to writing this blog and managing the Facebook group, I also work as a freelance tour guide in Barcelona and am planning to launch my own tours soon. I am from the UK originally and I am fluent in Spanish and am learning Catalan, which has helped me to discover a whole new side to the city. I can’t wait to share everything I’ve learned about Barcelona with you!

Your Barcelona trip planning consultation will include:
- A private 1-hour online video call with Claire, a Barcelona local and the founder of What to Do in Barcelona & Beyond.
- A recording of our consultation — so you can rewatch it to catch anything you might have missed
- A Google Sheet with my notes from the call
- You’ll be provided with a link that will allow others in your party to join in the call, even if they’re based in a different location.
We can use this time to answer your questions, share my tips and advice, and plan a personalised itinerary for your trip to Barcelona
I do not book on your behalf, but can help get you ready to book independently, sending you links to recommended tours, activities and accommodation where relevent.
What Do You Need to Do to Prepare?
Come with your questions; that’s all you need. If you have a rough itinerary or some initial ideas, feel free to send them over before the call and we can work through them together.
If you’re right at the start of your planning, that’s absolutely fine too. Most people I speak to haven’t done any planning yet, but some ideas of what you might want to do could be useful so we can make the most of the time we have together. I am launching these private Barcelona Travel Planning Consultations at a special introductory rate of €50 EUR for a 1 hour call.
If you invest just one hour of your time with me, I can help save you significant time and money. My local knowledge ensures that your itinerary will be well-planned, with recommendations for the best places to visit, where to eat and drink, and top accommodation options, as well as tips for exploring more of Catalonia and Spain.
Payment is required at the time of booking and is charged by credit card.

The calendar times are displayed in your local time zone and shows my general availability, although it differs from week to week. I will email you confirm your appointment ASAP.
Once I’ve confirmed the time is suitable, I will send you a Zoom link ready to use during your call.

As part of this trip planning service I offer advice and recommendations that I think will be suitable for you, based on our conversation and my personal experience of living in Barcelona. I can help organise an itinerary for you, and suggest accommodation, tours and other services but I do not book anything on your behalf.
You will be free to finalise your itinerary and to book whatever you like.
I do my very best to provide accurate and up-to-date information, and I am not liable for any errors or omissions and accept no responsibility for anything that may be incorrect or may have changed. I am not responsible for any bookings you make or the service of any company I may have recommended.
